Description

68kHz Precision Cavitation for Sensitive Components

Operating at a high frequency of 68kHz, this bath generates dense micro-bubbles that deliver ultra-fine cavitation. It effectively lifts 5–10μm fine particles, oils, and delicate residues from micro-grooves and narrow crevices while preventing surface abrasion. This makes it ideal for cleaning optical components, dental instruments, printed circuit boards, and fragile laboratory glassware.

Spacious 22L Stainless Steel Tank for Extended Labware & Tools

Featuring an extended tank size of 500 × 300 × 150 mm and a 22L capacity, the wide bath configuration accommodates long items such as burettes, pipettes, and long hardware, as well as batches of glass beakers and flasks. Built with a 1.5mm SUS304 inner tank and a 1.0mm SUS304 outer shell, the unit includes a protective wire mesh basket and a convenient drain valve for streamlined beaker sample preparation and batch sonication.

0–800W Adjustable Ultrasonic Power & 1000W Heating Performance

Equipped with 16 high-performance transducers, the cleaner provides 0–800W adjustable ultrasonic power to customize acoustic intensity according to workload sensitivity. A dedicated 1000W heating power system helps warm cleaning fluids between 20°C and 80°C to assist dirt dissolution (note: heating is non-thermostatic). An integrated digital timer permits run-time adjustments from 1 to 9999 seconds.

Digital Operating Functions: Degas, Sweep, Pulse & Timer Control

The English-language digital control panel provides versatile multi-mode functionality for research and lab processing:

  • Degas Mode: Removes air pockets from liquid samples through intermittent ultrasonic pulsing, essential for HPLC solvent degassing and sample preparation.
  • Sweep Mode: Continuously fluctuates the operating frequency around 68kHz (±1kHz) to prevent standing waves and guarantee uniform energy distribution across the tank.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly alternates power output to break down stubborn surface deposits and baked-on residues.
  • Noise Reduction: High-frequency 68kHz operation naturally produces quiet mechanical acoustics below 80dB, creating a comfortable laboratory environment.

Support & FAQ

Frequency determines cavitation bubble size, impact force, and penetration depth. Lower frequencies produce violent impact for heavy dirt, while higher frequencies provide dense, gentle cleaning for sub-micron microstructures:

Granbo Recommended Frequency Matrix:
• 28kHz: Heavy oil, scale, rust, polishing wax, cutting dust, and thick contaminants (>10μm) on heavy metal/resin parts.
• 40kHz: Universal choice for standard labware, stainless steel, glass, and general maintenance (>10μm particles).
• 68kHz / 80kHz: Fine cleaning for PCBs, watch components, optics, medical instruments, and micro-grooves (5–10μm particles).
• 120kHz: Precision cleaning for micro-blind holes (<0.1mm), semiconductors, ICs, optical lenses, and MEMS (1–5μm particles).
• 200kHz: Ultra-precision cleaning for silicon wafers, MEMS, thin films, and sub-micron / nano-scale contamination (<1μm).

Based on Granbo multi-frequency switchable configurations (Single/Dual/Triple/Quad), we recommend:

ProcessRecommended FrequencyApplication Context
Dispersion17-28kHz / 40kHz / 120kHz17-28kHz for coarse solid chunks; 40kHz for powders; 120kHz for micro/nano suspensions.
Emulsification28kHz / 40kHz28kHz generates stronger shear force for heavy liquid blending.
Extraction40kHz / 120kHz120kHz is standard for intracellular substance extraction and cell disruption.
Mixing/Catalysis40kHz / 120kHz40kHz for routine mixing; 120kHz for micro-particle homogenization.
Synthesis80kHz / 120kHzPrevents molecular degradation during material synthesis.
Environmental20kHzHigh-power sonication for sludge treatment, sewage, and algae disruption.

To resist cavitation erosion, Granbo customizes tank thickness and welding based on operating frequency:

Frequency RangeInner Tank (SUS304)Outer ShellCommon Tank Capacities & Process
28kHz - 200kHz 1.5 mm Thickness SUS304 (1.0 mm) 3–10L, 14–22L, 30–58L, 61–135L. Industrial precision stamping & TIG welding.
25kHz 2.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.
17kHz & 20kHz 3.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Ultra-thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.

*Material Safety Tip: Soft metals (aluminum, brass, gold) and delicate glass/ceramics may scratch or fracture at 28kHz. We recommend 40kHz to 80kHz or pre-testing for delicate substrates.

When a workpiece has both stubborn contaminants and sub-micron precision requirements, use a multi-stage approach:

  1. Stage 1 (Pre-cleaning / 28kHz or 40kHz): Strips heavy grease, rust, polishing paste, scale, or coarse metal particles.
  2. Stage 2 (Fine Cleaning / 68kHz or 80kHz): Removes fine particles (5–10μm) from blind holes, threads, and complex internal geometry.
  3. Stage 3 (Ultra-Precision Rinse / 120kHz or 200kHz): Eliminates sub-micron (<1μm) residues without damaging fragile surfaces or thin films.
  • Sweep Mode: Automatically sweeps ±1kHz around the center frequency to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform cavitation across the bath.
  • Degas Mode: Uses pulsed ultrasound intervals (e.g., 5s on / 5s off) to purge dissolved air/gas from liquids—crucial for HPLC sample prep and max cavitation efficiency.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles power from 100% to 0% to produce a "blasting" impact that removes tough or baked-on residues.

Granbo units utilize Full-Bridge Separately Excited PCB Driver Boards rather than cheap self-excited circuits:

  1. Visualized Real-time Data: Displays live Power, Frequency, and Current for strict laboratory protocol logging.
  2. High Power Density: Guarantees a standard ≥ 0.3W/cm² for thorough cleaning. Power Density = Ultrasonic Power (W) / Radiating Area (cm²)
  3. Low Noise Operation: While 28kHz operation naturally produces more audible mechanical noise, Granbo's multi-layer noise-reduction design enables high-frequency units (≥68kHz) to operate at noise levels below 80dB.

Ultrasonic frequency determines sound wavelength and cavitation bubble collapse intensity:

Wavelength (λ) = 1,450,000 (mm/s) / Frequency (Hz)
  • 20kHz (λ ≈ 72.5mm): Large bubbles, high collapse force. Best for heavy rust, sludge, and thick scale.
  • 40kHz (λ ≈ 36.2mm): Medium bubbles. Ideal balance between cleaning power and component safety.
  • 120kHz (λ ≈ 12.0mm): Micro bubbles. High penetration depth for sub-micron cracks and fragile silicon/semiconductor parts.

Beaker Size Matching:
• Beaker ≤ 500mL → 3.2L to 6.5L Tank.
• Beaker ≥ 800mL → 10L to 30L Tank (10L is the most popular size for general lab applications).

Temperature Management:
Ultrasonic activity inherently raises liquid temperature. Although Granbo heating goes up to 80°C, cavitation effectiveness drops significantly above 72°C–80°C due to increased vapor pressure. For temperature-sensitive or low-temp processes, use cooling coils or ice packs in the bath.

Standard production lead times for out-of-stock or customized Granbo models:

  • 28kHz - 200kHz Models (Single, Dual, Triple, Quad Frequency): 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
  • Ultra-Low Frequency (17kHz, 20kHz, 25kHz): 14 - 20 business days for shipping.

*Note: Customizations like RS-485 communication or PLC integration may slightly adjust delivery timelines. Contact us for precise scheduling.
