Description

68kHz High-Frequency Precision Cleaning Advantages

Operating at a 68kHz high frequency, this benchtop ultrasonic cleaner produces dense micro-cavitation bubbles that easily reach into micro-grooves, tiny slots, and intricate geometries to remove 5–10μm particles. The high-frequency cavitation provides gentle, uniform acoustic energy with low physical impact, making it ideal for delicate laboratory glassware, optical components, and precision instrument cleaning without risk of surface scratching or damage.

4.5L Tank Capacity & Size Suitability

Constructed with a durable SUS304 stainless steel tank measuring 300 × 150 × 100 mm, the 4.5L capacity bath comfortably holds glass beakers up to 500mL. It is well-suited for beaker sample preparation, solvent degassing, and batch cleaning of compact lab tools. The machine includes a secure wire cleaning mesh basket and a built-in drain valve for safe sample placement and convenient fluid drainage.

0–200W Adjustable Power & 450W Heating Function

Driven by four 50W transducers, the cleaner offers 0–200W adjustable ultrasonic power to calibrate cavitation intensity according to delicate target requirements. An independent 450W heating power system provides auxiliary thermal assistance from 20°C to 80°C to facilitate contaminant breakdown (note: auxiliary heating, non-thermostatic control). Operating times are digitally set via a 1–9999s digital timer.

Specialized Operating Modes: Degas, Sweep & Pulse

Equipped with an intuitive English digital operating panel, the unit provides dedicated functional controls:

  • Degas Mode: Expels entrapped gas bubbles from liquids to enhance cavitation efficacy and assist degassing procedures.
  • Sweep Mode: Continuously modulates frequency by ±1kHz to eliminate acoustic standing waves and ensure even cavitation distribution.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles ultrasonic power to help dislodge persistent surface deposits.
  • Noise Reduction: Designed with multi-layer acoustic dampening structures to maintain quiet operating noise levels below 80dB.

Support & FAQ

Frequency determines cavitation bubble size, impact force, and penetration depth. Lower frequencies produce violent impact for heavy dirt, while higher frequencies provide dense, gentle cleaning for sub-micron microstructures:

Granbo Recommended Frequency Matrix:
• 28kHz: Heavy oil, scale, rust, polishing wax, cutting dust, and thick contaminants (>10μm) on heavy metal/resin parts.
• 40kHz: Universal choice for standard labware, stainless steel, glass, and general maintenance (>10μm particles).
• 68kHz / 80kHz: Fine cleaning for PCBs, watch components, optics, medical instruments, and micro-grooves (5–10μm particles).
• 120kHz: Precision cleaning for micro-blind holes (<0.1mm), semiconductors, ICs, optical lenses, and MEMS (1–5μm particles).
• 200kHz: Ultra-precision cleaning for silicon wafers, MEMS, thin films, and sub-micron / nano-scale contamination (<1μm).

Based on Granbo multi-frequency switchable configurations (Single/Dual/Triple/Quad), we recommend:

ProcessRecommended FrequencyApplication Context
Dispersion17-28kHz / 40kHz / 120kHz17-28kHz for coarse solid chunks; 40kHz for powders; 120kHz for micro/nano suspensions.
Emulsification28kHz / 40kHz28kHz generates stronger shear force for heavy liquid blending.
Extraction40kHz / 120kHz120kHz is standard for intracellular substance extraction and cell disruption.
Mixing/Catalysis40kHz / 120kHz40kHz for routine mixing; 120kHz for micro-particle homogenization.
Synthesis80kHz / 120kHzPrevents molecular degradation during material synthesis.
Environmental20kHzHigh-power sonication for sludge treatment, sewage, and algae disruption.

To resist cavitation erosion, Granbo customizes tank thickness and welding based on operating frequency:

Frequency RangeInner Tank (SUS304)Outer ShellCommon Tank Capacities & Process
28kHz - 200kHz 1.5 mm Thickness SUS304 (1.0 mm) 3–10L, 14–22L, 30–58L, 61–135L. Industrial precision stamping & TIG welding.
25kHz 2.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.
17kHz & 20kHz 3.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Ultra-thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.

*Material Safety Tip: Soft metals (aluminum, brass, gold) and delicate glass/ceramics may scratch or fracture at 28kHz. We recommend 40kHz to 80kHz or pre-testing for delicate substrates.

When a workpiece has both stubborn contaminants and sub-micron precision requirements, use a multi-stage approach:

  1. Stage 1 (Pre-cleaning / 28kHz or 40kHz): Strips heavy grease, rust, polishing paste, scale, or coarse metal particles.
  2. Stage 2 (Fine Cleaning / 68kHz or 80kHz): Removes fine particles (5–10μm) from blind holes, threads, and complex internal geometry.
  3. Stage 3 (Ultra-Precision Rinse / 120kHz or 200kHz): Eliminates sub-micron (<1μm) residues without damaging fragile surfaces or thin films.
  • Sweep Mode: Automatically sweeps ±1kHz around the center frequency to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform cavitation across the bath.
  • Degas Mode: Uses pulsed ultrasound intervals (e.g., 5s on / 5s off) to purge dissolved air/gas from liquids—crucial for HPLC sample prep and max cavitation efficiency.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles power from 100% to 0% to produce a "blasting" impact that removes tough or baked-on residues.

Granbo units utilize Full-Bridge Separately Excited PCB Driver Boards rather than cheap self-excited circuits:

  1. Visualized Real-time Data: Displays live Power, Frequency, and Current for strict laboratory protocol logging.
  2. High Power Density: Guarantees a standard ≥ 0.3W/cm² for thorough cleaning. Power Density = Ultrasonic Power (W) / Radiating Area (cm²)
  3. Low Noise Operation: While 28kHz operation naturally produces more audible mechanical noise, Granbo's multi-layer noise-reduction design enables high-frequency units (≥68kHz) to operate at noise levels below 80dB.

Ultrasonic frequency determines sound wavelength and cavitation bubble collapse intensity:

Wavelength (λ) = 1,450,000 (mm/s) / Frequency (Hz)
  • 20kHz (λ ≈ 72.5mm): Large bubbles, high collapse force. Best for heavy rust, sludge, and thick scale.
  • 40kHz (λ ≈ 36.2mm): Medium bubbles. Ideal balance between cleaning power and component safety.
  • 120kHz (λ ≈ 12.0mm): Micro bubbles. High penetration depth for sub-micron cracks and fragile silicon/semiconductor parts.

Beaker Size Matching:
• Beaker ≤ 500mL → 3.2L to 6.5L Tank.
• Beaker ≥ 800mL → 10L to 30L Tank (10L is the most popular size for general lab applications).

Temperature Management:
Ultrasonic activity inherently raises liquid temperature. Although Granbo heating goes up to 80°C, cavitation effectiveness drops significantly above 72°C–80°C due to increased vapor pressure. For temperature-sensitive or low-temp processes, use cooling coils or ice packs in the bath.

Standard production lead times for out-of-stock or customized Granbo models:

  • 28kHz - 200kHz Models (Single, Dual, Triple, Quad Frequency): 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
  • Ultra-Low Frequency (17kHz, 20kHz, 25kHz): 14 - 20 business days for shipping.

*Note: Customizations like RS-485 communication or PLC integration may slightly adjust delivery timelines. Contact us for precise scheduling.
