Description

Gentle 68kHz High-Frequency Cavitation for Micro-Structures

Operating at a 68kHz high frequency, this unit creates dense, fine cavitation action that cleans complex internal geometries without causing surface wear. It is specifically designed to remove 5–10μm fine particles, delicate residues, and light contaminants from optical components, dental instruments, circuit boards, and laboratory glassware.

Deep 19L SUS304 Tank Engineered for Larger Labware

With internal dimensions of 330 × 300 × 200 mm and a generous 19L capacity, the deep bath comfortably holds large glass beakers (800mL and above), flasks, and complex tool sets. Constructed with a 1.5mm SUS304 inner tank and 1.0mm SUS304 outer housing, it includes a wire mesh basket and built-in drain valve, facilitating efficient beaker sample preparation, batch sonication, and liquid processing tasks.

0–500W Adjustable Ultrasonic Power & 1000W Heating Assistance

Driven by 10 high-efficiency transducers, the bath delivers 0–500W adjustable ultrasonic power to protect delicate items or optimize energy intensity. A separate 1000W heating power system warms the liquid from room temperature up to 80°C to assist dirt breakdown (note: heating is non-thermostatic). Digital controls allow precise runtime configuration from 1 to 9999 seconds.

Versatile Digital Operating Modes: Degas, Sweep & Pulse

The clear English digital control panel offers targeted operational settings for lab processing:

  • Degas Mode: Removes entrapped gas bubbles from liquids through pulsed ultrasonic pauses, facilitating solvent degassing and sample preparation.
  • Sweep Mode: Continuously modulates the frequency (±1kHz around 68kHz) to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform ultrasonic energy across the entire tank.
  • Pulse Mode: Alternates acoustic power rapidly between maximum and minimum levels for enhanced agitation on stubborn surface deposits.
  • Noise Reduction: Higher 68kHz operational frequencies inherently generate less audible vibration, maintaining comfortable acoustic levels below 80dB.

Support & FAQ

Frequency determines cavitation bubble size, impact force, and penetration depth. Lower frequencies produce violent impact for heavy dirt, while higher frequencies provide dense, gentle cleaning for sub-micron microstructures:

Granbo Recommended Frequency Matrix:
• 28kHz: Heavy oil, scale, rust, polishing wax, cutting dust, and thick contaminants (>10μm) on heavy metal/resin parts.
• 40kHz: Universal choice for standard labware, stainless steel, glass, and general maintenance (>10μm particles).
• 68kHz / 80kHz: Fine cleaning for PCBs, watch components, optics, medical instruments, and micro-grooves (5–10μm particles).
• 120kHz: Precision cleaning for micro-blind holes (<0.1mm), semiconductors, ICs, optical lenses, and MEMS (1–5μm particles).
• 200kHz: Ultra-precision cleaning for silicon wafers, MEMS, thin films, and sub-micron / nano-scale contamination (<1μm).

Based on Granbo multi-frequency switchable configurations (Single/Dual/Triple/Quad), we recommend:

ProcessRecommended FrequencyApplication Context
Dispersion17-28kHz / 40kHz / 120kHz17-28kHz for coarse solid chunks; 40kHz for powders; 120kHz for micro/nano suspensions.
Emulsification28kHz / 40kHz28kHz generates stronger shear force for heavy liquid blending.
Extraction40kHz / 120kHz120kHz is standard for intracellular substance extraction and cell disruption.
Mixing/Catalysis40kHz / 120kHz40kHz for routine mixing; 120kHz for micro-particle homogenization.
Synthesis80kHz / 120kHzPrevents molecular degradation during material synthesis.
Environmental20kHzHigh-power sonication for sludge treatment, sewage, and algae disruption.

To resist cavitation erosion, Granbo customizes tank thickness and welding based on operating frequency:

Frequency RangeInner Tank (SUS304)Outer ShellCommon Tank Capacities & Process
28kHz - 200kHz 1.5 mm Thickness SUS304 (1.0 mm) 3–10L, 14–22L, 30–58L, 61–135L. Industrial precision stamping & TIG welding.
25kHz 2.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.
17kHz & 20kHz 3.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Ultra-thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.

*Material Safety Tip: Soft metals (aluminum, brass, gold) and delicate glass/ceramics may scratch or fracture at 28kHz. We recommend 40kHz to 80kHz or pre-testing for delicate substrates.

When a workpiece has both stubborn contaminants and sub-micron precision requirements, use a multi-stage approach:

  1. Stage 1 (Pre-cleaning / 28kHz or 40kHz): Strips heavy grease, rust, polishing paste, scale, or coarse metal particles.
  2. Stage 2 (Fine Cleaning / 68kHz or 80kHz): Removes fine particles (5–10μm) from blind holes, threads, and complex internal geometry.
  3. Stage 3 (Ultra-Precision Rinse / 120kHz or 200kHz): Eliminates sub-micron (<1μm) residues without damaging fragile surfaces or thin films.
  • Sweep Mode: Automatically sweeps ±1kHz around the center frequency to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform cavitation across the bath.
  • Degas Mode: Uses pulsed ultrasound intervals (e.g., 5s on / 5s off) to purge dissolved air/gas from liquids—crucial for HPLC sample prep and max cavitation efficiency.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles power from 100% to 0% to produce a "blasting" impact that removes tough or baked-on residues.

Granbo units utilize Full-Bridge Separately Excited PCB Driver Boards rather than cheap self-excited circuits:

  1. Visualized Real-time Data: Displays live Power, Frequency, and Current for strict laboratory protocol logging.
  2. High Power Density: Guarantees a standard ≥ 0.3W/cm² for thorough cleaning. Power Density = Ultrasonic Power (W) / Radiating Area (cm²)
  3. Low Noise Operation: While 28kHz operation naturally produces more audible mechanical noise, Granbo's multi-layer noise-reduction design enables high-frequency units (≥68kHz) to operate at noise levels below 80dB.

Ultrasonic frequency determines sound wavelength and cavitation bubble collapse intensity:

Wavelength (λ) = 1,450,000 (mm/s) / Frequency (Hz)
  • 20kHz (λ ≈ 72.5mm): Large bubbles, high collapse force. Best for heavy rust, sludge, and thick scale.
  • 40kHz (λ ≈ 36.2mm): Medium bubbles. Ideal balance between cleaning power and component safety.
  • 120kHz (λ ≈ 12.0mm): Micro bubbles. High penetration depth for sub-micron cracks and fragile silicon/semiconductor parts.

Beaker Size Matching:
• Beaker ≤ 500mL → 3.2L to 6.5L Tank.
• Beaker ≥ 800mL → 10L to 30L Tank (10L is the most popular size for general lab applications).

Temperature Management:
Ultrasonic activity inherently raises liquid temperature. Although Granbo heating goes up to 80°C, cavitation effectiveness drops significantly above 72°C–80°C due to increased vapor pressure. For temperature-sensitive or low-temp processes, use cooling coils or ice packs in the bath.

Standard production lead times for out-of-stock or customized Granbo models:

  • 28kHz - 200kHz Models (Single, Dual, Triple, Quad Frequency): 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
  • Ultra-Low Frequency (17kHz, 20kHz, 25kHz): 14 - 20 business days for shipping.

*Note: Customizations like RS-485 communication or PLC integration may slightly adjust delivery timelines. Contact us for precise scheduling.
