Description

80kHz High-Frequency Cavitation for Gentle Precision Cleaning

Operating at 80kHz, this high-frequency benchtop ultrasonic cleaner generates fine cavitation bubbles ideal for removing delicate particles (5–10μm) from sensitive surfaces, micro-grooves, and complex structures. The high frequency provides a gentle cleaning process during routine Cleaning, protecting sensitive items such as Optical Components, delicate Labware, and intricate devices while maintaining lower audible operational noise.

3.2L Tank Capacity & Dimension Compatibility

Featuring a 3.2L capacity SUS304 stainless steel tank with internal dimensions of 240 x 135 x 100 mm, this unit easily accommodates Laboratory Glassware, Beaker Sample Preparation setups (suitable for lab beakers up to 500mL), Sample Vials, Cuvettes, and small components. It includes a wire cleaning mesh basket for safe Hardware Cleaning and an integrated drain valve for convenient liquid maintenance.

Degas, Sweep, and Pulse Digital Functions

Equipped with specialized digital operating modes to optimize bath performance:

  • Degas: Uses pulsed ultrasonic cycles to remove dissolved gas from liquids, aiding Solvent Degassing and sample preparation procedures.
  • Sweep: Modulates frequency by ±1kHz to eliminate standing waves and deliver uniform cavitation across the entire bath.
  • Pulse: Cycles ultrasonic power rapidly to dislodge persistent surface residues without damaging delicate workpieces.

0–150W Adjustable Ultrasonic Power & 300W Heating

Three 50W transducers deliver digitally adjustable ultrasonic power from 0 to 150W. An independent 300W heating system provides bath warming from 20°C to 80°C to enhance cleaning solutions. Both heating and timer settings (1–9999s) are easily configured via the digital control panel. (Note: Fluid temperatures naturally rise during ultrasonic operation; the heating function is non-thermostatic).

Support & FAQ

Frequency determines cavitation bubble size, impact force, and penetration depth. Lower frequencies produce violent impact for heavy dirt, while higher frequencies provide dense, gentle cleaning for sub-micron microstructures:

Granbo Recommended Frequency Matrix:
• 28kHz: Heavy oil, scale, rust, polishing wax, cutting dust, and thick contaminants (>10μm) on heavy metal/resin parts.
• 40kHz: Universal choice for standard labware, stainless steel, glass, and general maintenance (>10μm particles).
• 68kHz / 80kHz: Fine cleaning for PCBs, watch components, optics, medical instruments, and micro-grooves (5–10μm particles).
• 120kHz: Precision cleaning for micro-blind holes (<0.1mm), semiconductors, ICs, optical lenses, and MEMS (1–5μm particles).
• 200kHz: Ultra-precision cleaning for silicon wafers, MEMS, thin films, and sub-micron / nano-scale contamination (<1μm).

Based on Granbo multi-frequency switchable configurations (Single/Dual/Triple/Quad), we recommend:

ProcessRecommended FrequencyApplication Context
Dispersion17-28kHz / 40kHz / 120kHz17-28kHz for coarse solid chunks; 40kHz for powders; 120kHz for micro/nano suspensions.
Emulsification28kHz / 40kHz28kHz generates stronger shear force for heavy liquid blending.
Extraction40kHz / 120kHz120kHz is standard for intracellular substance extraction and cell disruption.
Mixing/Catalysis40kHz / 120kHz40kHz for routine mixing; 120kHz for micro-particle homogenization.
Synthesis80kHz / 120kHzPrevents molecular degradation during material synthesis.
Environmental20kHzHigh-power sonication for sludge treatment, sewage, and algae disruption.

To resist cavitation erosion, Granbo customizes tank thickness and welding based on operating frequency:

Frequency RangeInner Tank (SUS304)Outer ShellCommon Tank Capacities & Process
28kHz - 200kHz 1.5 mm Thickness SUS304 (1.0 mm) 3–10L, 14–22L, 30–58L, 61–135L. Industrial precision stamping & TIG welding.
25kHz 2.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.
17kHz & 20kHz 3.0 mm Thickness SUS201 (1.0 mm) Ultra-thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding.

*Material Safety Tip: Soft metals (aluminum, brass, gold) and delicate glass/ceramics may scratch or fracture at 28kHz. We recommend 40kHz to 80kHz or pre-testing for delicate substrates.

When a workpiece has both stubborn contaminants and sub-micron precision requirements, use a multi-stage approach:

  1. Stage 1 (Pre-cleaning / 28kHz or 40kHz): Strips heavy grease, rust, polishing paste, scale, or coarse metal particles.
  2. Stage 2 (Fine Cleaning / 68kHz or 80kHz): Removes fine particles (5–10μm) from blind holes, threads, and complex internal geometry.
  3. Stage 3 (Ultra-Precision Rinse / 120kHz or 200kHz): Eliminates sub-micron (<1μm) residues without damaging fragile surfaces or thin films.
  • Sweep Mode: Automatically sweeps ±1kHz around the center frequency to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform cavitation across the bath.
  • Degas Mode: Uses pulsed ultrasound intervals (e.g., 5s on / 5s off) to purge dissolved air/gas from liquids—crucial for HPLC sample prep and max cavitation efficiency.
  • Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles power from 100% to 0% to produce a "blasting" impact that removes tough or baked-on residues.

Granbo units utilize Full-Bridge Separately Excited PCB Driver Boards rather than cheap self-excited circuits:

  1. Visualized Real-time Data: Displays live Power, Frequency, and Current for strict laboratory protocol logging.
  2. High Power Density: Guarantees a standard ≥ 0.3W/cm² for thorough cleaning. Power Density = Ultrasonic Power (W) / Radiating Area (cm²)
  3. Low Noise Operation: While 28kHz operation naturally produces more audible mechanical noise, Granbo's multi-layer noise-reduction design enables high-frequency units (≥68kHz) to operate at noise levels below 80dB.

Ultrasonic frequency determines sound wavelength and cavitation bubble collapse intensity:

Wavelength (λ) = 1,450,000 (mm/s) / Frequency (Hz)
  • 20kHz (λ ≈ 72.5mm): Large bubbles, high collapse force. Best for heavy rust, sludge, and thick scale.
  • 40kHz (λ ≈ 36.2mm): Medium bubbles. Ideal balance between cleaning power and component safety.
  • 120kHz (λ ≈ 12.0mm): Micro bubbles. High penetration depth for sub-micron cracks and fragile silicon/semiconductor parts.

Beaker Size Matching:
• Beaker ≤ 500mL → 3.2L to 6.5L Tank.
• Beaker ≥ 800mL → 10L to 30L Tank (10L is the most popular size for general lab applications).

Temperature Management:
Ultrasonic activity inherently raises liquid temperature. Although Granbo heating goes up to 80°C, cavitation effectiveness drops significantly above 72°C–80°C due to increased vapor pressure. For temperature-sensitive or low-temp processes, use cooling coils or ice packs in the bath.

Standard production lead times for out-of-stock or customized Granbo models:

  • 28kHz - 200kHz Models (Single, Dual, Triple, Quad Frequency): 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
  • Ultra-Low Frequency (17kHz, 20kHz, 25kHz): 14 - 20 business days for shipping.

*Note: Customizations like RS-485 communication or PLC integration may slightly adjust delivery timelines. Contact us for precise scheduling.
