Description
Multi-Frequency Cavitation for Laboratory Beakers and Delicate Cuvettes
This digital ultrasonic cleaning bath utilizes a switchable quad-frequency system of 40/80/100/160kHz to provide versatile, multi-stage cleaning. Equipped with 8 high-performance transducers, the unit delivers an adjustable ultrasonic power range of 0 to 400W, allowing operators to tailor the cavitation intensity to the fragility of the items. The 40kHz frequency provides balanced cleaning for general contaminants, while the 80kHz and 100kHz settings offer fine cavitation for intricate channels. The ultra-high 160kHz frequency provides gentle, micro-fine bubble collapse to safely clean sensitive surfaces without damage. The tank is constructed from durable SUS304 stainless steel to resist cavitation erosion.
The digital control interface enables precise management of the cleaning cycle. A programmable timer supports operations from 1 to 9999 seconds. Specialized processing modes include Degassing mode to remove dissolved air for maximum cavitation efficiency, Sweep mode to eliminate standing waves for uniform cleaning, and Pulse mode for high-impact cleaning of stubborn residues. The Semiwave function provides a milder wave profile for highly sensitive parts. The unit’s structural design naturally dampens operational sounds, providing effective noise reduction during high-frequency cycles.
With a 10L capacity, the tank has internal dimensions of 300x240x150 mm and external unit dimensions of 325x265x330 mm. The integrated heating system provides 600W heating power, allowing users to adjust temperatures between 20°C and 80°C to enhance chemical action. Please note that the heating function assists in loosening contaminants but does not feature constant temperature control.

Support & FAQ
Frequency determines cavitation bubble size, impact force, and penetration depth. Lower frequencies produce violent impact for heavy dirt, while higher frequencies provide dense, gentle cleaning for sub-micron microstructures:
• 28kHz: Heavy oil, scale, rust, polishing wax, cutting dust, and thick contaminants (>10μm) on heavy metal/resin parts.
• 40kHz: Universal choice for standard labware, stainless steel, glass, and general maintenance (>10μm particles).
• 68kHz / 80kHz: Fine cleaning for PCBs, watch components, optics, medical instruments, and micro-grooves (5–10μm particles).
• 120kHz: Precision cleaning for micro-blind holes (<0.1mm), semiconductors, ICs, optical lenses, and MEMS (1–5μm particles).
• 200kHz: Ultra-precision cleaning for silicon wafers, MEMS, thin films, and sub-micron / nano-scale contamination (<1μm).
Based on Granbo multi-frequency switchable configurations (Single/Dual/Triple/Quad), we recommend:
| Process | Recommended Frequency | Application Context |
|---|---|---|
| Dispersion | 17-28kHz / 40kHz / 120kHz | 17-28kHz for coarse solid chunks; 40kHz for powders; 120kHz for micro/nano suspensions. |
| Emulsification | 28kHz / 40kHz | 28kHz generates stronger shear force for heavy liquid blending. |
| Extraction | 40kHz / 120kHz | 120kHz is standard for intracellular substance extraction and cell disruption. |
| Mixing/Catalysis | 40kHz / 120kHz | 40kHz for routine mixing; 120kHz for micro-particle homogenization. |
| Synthesis | 80kHz / 120kHz | Prevents molecular degradation during material synthesis. |
| Environmental | 20kHz | High-power sonication for sludge treatment, sewage, and algae disruption. |
To resist cavitation erosion, Granbo customizes tank thickness and welding based on operating frequency:
| Frequency Range | Inner Tank (SUS304) | Outer Shell | Common Tank Capacities & Process |
|---|---|---|---|
| 28kHz - 200kHz | 1.5 mm Thickness | SUS304 (1.0 mm) | 3–10L, 14–22L, 30–58L, 61–135L. Industrial precision stamping & TIG welding. |
| 25kHz | 2.0 mm Thickness | SUS201 (1.0 mm) | Thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding. |
| 17kHz & 20kHz | 3.0 mm Thickness | SUS201 (1.0 mm) | Ultra-thickened tank; Manual oxy-acetylene heavy welding. |
*Material Safety Tip: Soft metals (aluminum, brass, gold) and delicate glass/ceramics may scratch or fracture at 28kHz. We recommend 40kHz to 80kHz or pre-testing for delicate substrates.
When a workpiece has both stubborn contaminants and sub-micron precision requirements, use a multi-stage approach:
- Stage 1 (Pre-cleaning / 28kHz or 40kHz): Strips heavy grease, rust, polishing paste, scale, or coarse metal particles.
- Stage 2 (Fine Cleaning / 68kHz or 80kHz): Removes fine particles (5–10μm) from blind holes, threads, and complex internal geometry.
- Stage 3 (Ultra-Precision Rinse / 120kHz or 200kHz): Eliminates sub-micron (<1μm) residues without damaging fragile surfaces or thin films.
- Sweep Mode: Automatically sweeps ±1kHz around the center frequency to eliminate standing waves, ensuring uniform cavitation across the bath.
- Degas Mode: Uses pulsed ultrasound intervals (e.g., 5s on / 5s off) to purge dissolved air/gas from liquids—crucial for HPLC sample prep and max cavitation efficiency.
- Pulse Mode: Rapidly cycles power from 100% to 0% to produce a "blasting" impact that removes tough or baked-on residues.
Granbo units utilize Full-Bridge Separately Excited PCB Driver Boards rather than cheap self-excited circuits:
- Visualized Real-time Data: Displays live Power, Frequency, and Current for strict laboratory protocol logging.
- High Power Density: Guarantees a standard ≥ 0.3W/cm² for thorough cleaning. Power Density = Ultrasonic Power (W) / Radiating Area (cm²)
- Low Noise Operation: While 28kHz operation naturally produces more audible mechanical noise, Granbo's multi-layer noise-reduction design enables high-frequency units (≥68kHz) to operate at noise levels below 80dB.
Ultrasonic frequency determines sound wavelength and cavitation bubble collapse intensity:
- 20kHz (λ ≈ 72.5mm): Large bubbles, high collapse force. Best for heavy rust, sludge, and thick scale.
- 40kHz (λ ≈ 36.2mm): Medium bubbles. Ideal balance between cleaning power and component safety.
- 120kHz (λ ≈ 12.0mm): Micro bubbles. High penetration depth for sub-micron cracks and fragile silicon/semiconductor parts.
Beaker Size Matching:
• Beaker ≤ 500mL → 3.2L to 6.5L Tank.
• Beaker ≥ 800mL → 10L to 30L Tank (10L is the most popular size for general lab applications).
Temperature Management:
Ultrasonic activity inherently raises liquid temperature. Although Granbo heating goes up to 80°C, cavitation effectiveness drops significantly above 72°C–80°C due to increased vapor pressure. For temperature-sensitive or low-temp processes, use cooling coils or ice packs in the bath.
Standard production lead times for out-of-stock or customized Granbo models:
- 28kHz - 200kHz Models (Single, Dual, Triple, Quad Frequency): 3 - 5 business days for shipping.
- Ultra-Low Frequency (17kHz, 20kHz, 25kHz): 14 - 20 business days for shipping.
*Note: Customizations like RS-485 communication or PLC integration may slightly adjust delivery timelines. Contact us for precise scheduling.
